Anastasias Cat Hotel

Hello!

We are Nigel and Anastasia Mckeown – the owners of Anastasia’s Cat Hotel,
and we went all out for CATS – Care, Attention, Time, Space!

We have 3 cats and 2 dogs, and we have also fostered cats for Cats Protection, and dogs for ProDogsDirect – do not worry, our dogs are not allowed near the hotel building, and they do not bark – it’s always peaceful and quiet here…

In the latter months of 2013 we decided to embark upon a mission to bring improved cat care/accommodation to our local area. We felt that cat accommodation was often an afterthought or a side cash source – not always purpose built, and not spacious enough. Due to the arrival of new and greatly improved cat welfare standards, a lot of catteries out there are outdated, and do not conform to the current regulations that apply to new builds.

After a lengthy consultation period with Perdy, Panda and Lucifer, it was decided that we want to build a cat hotel that is highly hygienic (we all know how meticulously clean cats are!), light, airy, and above all – spacious! The rooms at Anastasia’s Cat Hotel go well beyond the standards recommended for boarding catteries by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health – the sleeping chalets in our Large Rooms are big enough for 4 kitties under the most recent regulations, but we will not board more than 3 kitties in those. The sleeping chalets in our Super Rooms are big enough for 6 kitties, but we will not board more than 4 in those! As for the exercise areas – the Large ones are 1.5 times bigger, and the Super ones are twice as big as is recommended!

Cat care and happiness is not just simply having enough food and shelter,it’s about them being able to stretch their legs, having lots of room to play in and plenty of toys and stimulation. Our feline guests will receive plenty of play sessions and cuddles every day – we have a great range of toys on hand –radio controlled mice, catnip mice, feathery dangly things, sponge balls, tennis balls, RoboFish, Catit massage centres and circuits, iPad with cat games, climbing activity towers, crinkly tunnels, scratch posts – your kitty will not be bored here, that’s for sure! Having fostered for Cats Protection, we have experience in turning shy and timid kitties into playful happy cats – without Feliway diffusers!
